"I just had my 6-month check-up at Byers Station Dental and I was just as pleased with this visit as at my last one. The hygienist, Sharon, was competent and did a thorough cleaning. Dr. Moon always takes her time with me and explains what she is doing and what she is seeing during her exam. I showed her my dental night guard and she assured me it was still in good shape and I did not need a new one. I think Dr. Moon is an excellent dentist and I highly recommend her."- B.M. / Google / Jan 11, 2022
"I am so pleased with the quality of care provided at Byers Station Dental. As a new patient, I was greeted on arrival and promptly seen by the hygienist who performed X-rays, Panograph, photos, cleaning, and polishing. Very thorough. By any comparison to all my previous dentists, Byers Dental far surpassess them."- J.L. / Google / Jul 11, 2022
"I have had more dental work than any person in their 30s probably should. As a result, I'm generally skeptical of dentists and dental practices. I came across Dr. Moon and her team as I needed an emergency extraction and have been back (of my own volition) several times since for cleaning, crowns, caries, and veneers. This is a practice that I will be sticking with. Dr. Moon is accommodating, technically talented, and without ego, although it would be warranted. She clearly explains her diagnoses and allows time for questions and other concerns to be voiced. Her and her staff of hygienists, techs, and Kelly at the front desk, are always friendly, professional, and a pleasure to see. Highly recommend their practice and Dr. Moon."- K.W. / Google / Jan 11, 2022
"We happened upon Byers Station Dental just as we were looking for a new practice and we are so glad we did. Online scheduling was as easy as pie and the reminder system made it so I didn't forget my appointment! I scheduled my entire family and the admin team made sure all of our records transferred seamlessly from the previous practice we were with. The office is visually gorgeous, well appointed, and very comfortable. You will feel more like you are in a spa with so much natural light, hardwood floors and beautiful furniture. For some reason, that made me feel really good when I walked in, but that was just the beginning! The office staff was so welcoming and kind every step fo the way. Kelly, in particular, was very helpful in getting me acquainted with the practice, answering questions about my insurance, and following up with my visit closely and carefully (I had a temporary crown placed and Kelly reassured me that what i was feeling was normal and also that I had access to ongoing care if I experienced any pain or discomfort out of the "normal" zone.) Kelly also bent over backwards to get the crown work I needed scheduled as quickly as possible. The practice is busy and filling up fast, but Kelly made sure my needs were prioritized, as I was experiencing some pain prior to to the work. The hygienist, Ashley, is awesome. She is energetic and sweet, VERY thorough (that was the best cleaning I have had in a while) and incredibly gentle. And Dr. Moon is amazing, just amazing. I cannot say enough about her. I have a mouth full of teeth that have fillings, some quite old, and upon meeting me so did a thorough assessment of what my teeth needed to be healthy and strong. I wasn't thrilled to hear about needing the crown, but before Dr. Moon consulted with me I didn't realize the dangers of living with tiny fractures in my old fillings (which apparently just happens over time.) When she did the work I was very impressed.... she was slow (especially with the novocaine shot, which makes it considerably less painful!), careful, talked with me about what she was doing, and put me at ease while she worked. I felt like I understood what she was doing and why, which made the whole experience less anxiety producing. I went back yesterday to have the permanent crown placed and another filling repaired and I went in with confidence and excitement knowing that my teeth would feel better and be stronger than they have been in a while. If you have been putting off finding a new dentist for any reason, just stop and call this practice. You will be SO glad you did."- E.M. / Google / Jan 11, 2022
Who Should Receive Dental Cleanings?
Adults, teens, and kids should have their teeth professionally cleaned at least twice each year, as recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA). In some cases, such as when patients wear braces or have periodontal issues, our dentists may recommend more frequent dental cleanings. A professional cleaning eliminates plaque and tartar deposits from the teeth, which may harbor harmful bacteria that lead to tooth decay, gum disease, and bad breath. Dental cleanings in Chester Springs, PA, can also minimize the appearance of surface stains from coffee, tea, tobacco, and similar products, revealing a brighter, healthier-looking smile.
What To Expect During Your Visit
A professional cleaning at our Chester Springs, PA practice starts by addressing the tartar and plaque buildup from your teeth. While plaque forms a soft, sticky layer on the teeth, tartar (calcified plaque) cannot be removed with brushing and flossing at home. During a cleaning, special tools allow our hygienists to carefully scale this buildup without harming the teeth. To start, an ultrasonic device breaks up bigger areas of tartar and plaque. Hand instruments are then used to remove smaller pieces. After the teeth are clean, your enamel will be polished to remove surface stains.
After Your Dental Cleaning
A fluoride treatment may be applied after the teeth have been cleaned and your dental exam is complete. Our team will also point out any areas of concern and may use an intraoral camera to give you a better understanding of your oral health. Along with demonstrating ideal brushing and flossing techniques, we may recommend products that can help enhance your overall dental wellness. We can then assist you in scheduling your next dental cleaning appointment. Attending routine dental cleanings at Byers Station Dental may reduce your risk for oral problems and allow you to enjoy a healthy smile.
Insurance Coverage for Prophylaxis Visits
A professional prophylaxis is a preventive dental treatment and is usually covered twice each year by most dental insurance plans. A member of our office can talk to your dental insurance to understand your coverage and let you know of any remaining costs. If you do not carry dental insurance, please talk with our friendly business team at Byers Station Dental about our convenient and affordable payment options.
